"Hi, I'm Daisy!"
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is the fourth installment in the main Mario Kart series. It was released in November of 2003 on the Nintendo GameCube.
What makes Double Dash!! unique is its addition of the two-person kart mechanic. The karts are all operated and driven by two characters; one character drives and another sits on the back of the car but are able to switch at any point in time. This kart function has yet to reappear in the Mario Kart series.
Princess Daisy makes her debut in the Mario Kart series in Double Dash!! and is one of the sixteen default characters. She is in the middleweight class. Daisy's default partner in this game is Princess Peach. The two share a unique item, the Heart. Daisy has her own course in this game, a cruise ship aptly named Daisy Cruiser as well as her own unlockable kart, the Bloom Coach.
This game marks Deanna Mustard's second time voicing Daisy, with the first time being in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. Compared to that game, Daisy's quotes are much more boisterous and laconic. She shouts short and memorable phrases that perfectly showcase the princess's enthusiasm. Whenever Daisy switches from driver to passenger or vise versa, Daisy shouts the phrase "Hi, I'm Daisy!", and despite the phrase only being heard in this game and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, it's become one of her most iconic moments.
- "Hi, I'm Daisy!"
- "Whoooah, yeah!"
- "Aww, brutal!"
- "Not too bad, right?"
- Manual Bio: "This is Princess Daisy's first foray onto the circuits. She's so cute she's become something of an idol."
- Guide Bio: "Whoever said girls can't drive never met Daisy. She's fast, fearless, and not afraid to trade a little paint with anyone who tried to pass her."
- Along with Daisy, Waluigi makes his first appearance in the Mario Kart series in this game.
